BRAMPTON HONEY BADGERS LAUNCH BUSINESS COUNCIL

Kyle Warrener • Jul 04, 2023

The Brampton Honey Badgers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Tuesday the launch of the Brampton Honey Badgers Business Council (BHBBC).

The purpose of the BHBBC is to share business best practices that will assist in the long-term corporate development of Brampton’s only professional sports team; to introduce prospects to the franchise; expand the organization’s network; serve as a great B2B pathway; and align with City of Brampton economic development objectives.

A Committee Terms of Reference has been developed and members of the Brampton community are invited to apply for membership with meetings scheduled monthly. Interested individuals should inquire by emailing info@honeybadgers.ca

“Having recently made the permanent move to Brampton, the Honey Badgers have been overwhelmed with support from municipal leaders, businesspeople and the basketball community,” said Michael Cvitkovic, president, Brampton Honey Badgers. “This business council will bring together the corporate community in Brampton that has gained a reputation around the world as best in-class through its innovation, entrepreneurial approach, and diversity. Professional basketball is unique in its ability to combine business, technology, music, art, fashion, culture and sport. We look forward to the Honey Badgers serving as a conduit for the entire Brampton community.”

The Brampton Honey Badgers Business Council will have a myriad of opportunities to serve and showcase the Honey Badgers throughout the community including: advising the franchise on business trends that can positively or negatively impact the Club; leverage business and personal networks to introduce more basketball mavens to potential corporate involvement; analyze sponsorship inventory; and explore new avenues for sale, while serving as a Honey Badgers ambassador at community and corporate events.

Last month, the Brampton Honey Badgers launched its “We Are Brampton” brand showcased during a community event at the popular Foot Locker Shoppers World location and became the first franchise in the CEBL to have its team merchandise sold at a Foot Locker store.
