The Brampton Honey Badgers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Monday that CP24 Breakfast, the most-watched morning television show in the GTA, will visit CAA Centre on Wednesday, July 26 between 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. Popular TV personality Jee-Yun Lee will help celebrate “Brampton Honey Badgers, We Are Brampton Day,” throughout the City of Brampton, in advance of the team hosting its first nationally-televised game later that evening.

“Wednesday is a very special day for the City of Brampton and the Brampton Honey Badgers,” said team president Michael Cvitkovic. “We welcome CP24 Breakfast to help tip off a day full of basketball in Brampton. Viewers will get an inside look at Brampton’s only professional sports team, while at the same time, we showcase the role music, culture, fashion and the arts play on our game.”

Honey Badgers players, coaches and team personnel will be joined by some familiar faces to Brampton and basketball, in addition to local partners that make the CEBL a popular sports and entertainment experience including:

  • Brampton Minor Basketball Association players, coaches and executives.
  • Math Thru Music President Joseph Khargie and local DJs.
  • House of Fame Dance Academy performing artists.
  • Celebrity sports broadcaster Chuck Swirsky.
  • City of Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown.

CP24 Breakfast is Toronto’s #1 local morning show, offering an expansive slate of breaking news, traffic, and weather. The show broadcasts live from 6:00 to 9:30 a.m. on weekdays.

The Honey Badgers play host to GTA rival Scarborough Shooting Stars on national television as part of the
CEBL Game of the Week on TSN 1 and TSN 4 on Wednesday, July 26. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. and a limited number of tickets are still available at www.honeybadgers.ca/tickets.

In recognition of team permanently moving to Brampton and the positive impact professional basketball plays on the community, businesses and culture, City of Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown made an official proclamation, making July 26, 2023: “Brampton Honey Badgers, We Are Brampton Day.”

Brampton closes out its 2023 regular season at home on Saturday night when they play host to the Niagara River Lions at 7:30 p.m.
