Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Honey Badgers, one of the six inaugural teams of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Thursday a media partnership with local TV channel, Cable 14. As part of the agreement, Cable 14 will broadcast extensive highlights and replays of all remaining Honey Badgers games in the season on its channel.

"After attending a recent Honey Badgers home game, I immediately realized that we had to find a way to expose this fast and exciting game to the local fan base”, said Brent Rickert, general manager of Cable 14. “I am glad that were able to work out details as this is a very good way for fans to catch a game they may have missed."

“It’s great to have the support of Cable 14 in Hamilton to help showcase the newest professional sports team in the city” said Mike Morreale, CEO and Commissioner of the CEBL. “The Hamilton Honey Badgers are an exciting team to watch and I hope Hamiltonians tune in to see the rich basketball talent on offer.”

The CEBL, the official professional league partner of Canada Basketball, opened its inaugural season on May 9 with franchises in Fraser Valley (Abbotsford), Edmonton, Guelph, Hamilton, Saskatchewan (Saskatoon), and Niagara (St. Catharines). CEBL teams play a 20-game regular season from May 9 to August 15, culminating in the Championship Weekend to be held in Saskatoon, SK from August 22 - 25 where the top four teams (including host team, Saskatchewan Rattlers) compete for a chance to be the first-ever CEBL champion.
