HONEY BADGERS WELCOME BACK McINTOSH FOR 2022 SEASON

Apr 22, 2022

The Hamilton Honey Badgers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Friday that they have re-signed forward MiKyle McIntosh. McIntosh is currently playing in the NBL Australia with Tasmania where he is averaging 8.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 17.6 minutes per game through 25 games. He was the Honey Badgers first pick in franchise history during the 2019 CEBL Entry Draft, and appeared in two games for Hamilton in 2019, averaging 12.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 24.1 minutes per game.

“MiKyle is a versatile offensive threat with the ability to guard multiple positions on the floor,” said Honey Badgers general manager Jermaine Anderson. “Even though MiKyle is relatively young, he has played for high-level teams around the globe and is a member of our Senior Men’s National Team player pool. More importantly, Ryan and MiKyle have a great relationship from their time with the Raptors 905. Ryan and our staff will be able to utilize MiKyle’s skill set to help put us in a position to succeed.”

After three years at Illinois State, McIntosh finished his collegiate career as an Oregon Duck averaging 11.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 28.1 minutes in 36 games. He began his professional career with Anyang KGC of the Korean Basketball League before signing with Raptors 905, the Toronto Raptors G League affiliate, where he averaged 10.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 23.3 minutes in 25 games. After two games with the Honey Badgers and a showing with the Indiana Pacers during the 2019 NBA Summer League, McIntosh signed with Basketball Club Oostende in Belgium competing in the Basketball Champions League for the 2019-20 season. The Pickering native signed with Le Portel in France’s LNB Pro A League for 2020-21 where he played 31 games and averaged 12.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 28.6 minutes per game.

The Honey Badgers tip off their fourth Canadian Elite Basketball League season Wednesday, May 25 when the expansion Montreal Alliance visit FirstOntario Centre. They’re coming off a 2021 season that saw them go 9-5 and fall to Ottawa in the quarterfinals of the CEBL playoffs. Tickets for the 2022 season are on sale now at Ticketmaster.ca.
